Obviously, Spain does not celebrate thanksgiving, and with that said, they don't really eat turkey. But by the grace of god, Professor McKinney's wife took on the daunting task of preparing Thanksgiving dinner for 30 some odd people. Although the turkey was interesting, it truly felt like the next best thing; and I am an official fan of sweet potatoes.
This past Tuesday, my mom and dad arrived to Spain!! I've been waiting for this week for so long; I can remember practically crying when I realized there was still 15 weeks til my parents came to visit...but the day finally came!
They headed to the Cathedral and some small sightseeing while I went to class on wednesday. For lunch, my host mother Carmen prepared a huge lunch to welcome me mom and dad. Needless to say, that was the most exhausting lunch I have ever had, seeing as I was the only person there who could speak both English and Spanish. Although Alejandra made a very valiant effort to help me out.
I couldn't pass up staying in the hotel with my parents, so we headed back after lunch to hang out and catch up. As we were walking, I kept noticing this girl ahead of me. She just seemed out of place...
After contemplating in my head what could be wrong with this picture, I turned to my mom to say "doesn't that look like Katie?" but before I can get the words out of my mouth, I see my mom laughing...
It all begins to click...IT IS KATIE!
Talk about a reunion I'll never forget.
Next, the Milot clan (sans Philip Jr.) will take on Seville
You have a great looking family, it was so nice they let you crash at their hotel.
